Meet Claire

Founder & Owner

Claire is a board-certified music therapist, hospice and palliative care music therapist, end-of-life doula, certified dementia practitioner, and piano teacher based in Leesburg, VA. She is currently pursuing grief counselor certification to further support the individuals and families she serves.

In 2025, Claire founded Comfort Codas to follow her passion for this work while savoring every moment with her husband, her infant daughter and her two 4th graders.

Experience

  • Over a decade working with the geriatric population

  • 14 years teaching piano to children

  • Newly trained Music Together teacher, soon teaching classes for kids birth to age 6

  • Volunteer manager and music therapist at a hospice, seeing clients at home and in an in-patient center

  • Former geriatric care manager and music therapist at a care management company

  • Recreation coordinator and music therapist at two continuing care retirement communities

  • Extensive experience working with individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s

  • Experience working in skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, memory care and hospice care, leading music groups and other programs that support physical, cognitive, intellectual, and spiritual engagement.

Philosophy & Passion

​Claire is passionate about person-centered care and her top priority is ensuring every individual receives the comfort, care, and love that they need and deserve—through music or other means.

Outside Work

In her free time, Claire volunteers at her son’s elementary school, attends her son’s baseball games, visits with her friends and neighbors and spends time with her husband, their three kids and their many pets!
